Me 'n Marie

I explained why I write as Marie in my first post, but occasionally I get an e-mail asking if my name is Nancy or Marie. It's both. I am Nancy Marie.

My pseudo, Marie Millard, is my movie star name. Use your middle name as the first name and the street you grew up on as the last name. Did you play that game as a kid?

I was in Royal Oak and drove past the house I lived in until 1965 ... on Millard. Still looks the same, except the front porch steps seem smaller *wink*

Leave a comment ... what is your movie star name?

I have no middle name -- what do you stick with "Delmer" after all -- so I'd be one of those one-name stars like Cher, or Sinbad.

Crystal Drive was where I lived until I was four ... I don't know if I care for Crystal though.

I lived on Thomas Drive next(one or two blocks over from our Millard Drive) and usually give that address when asked where I grew up.

I'd simply be "Thomas," action-adventure star.

San: I know... and the garage was the same too.

Delmer: LOL Only you would end up with that "one name" movie star name ... I should have known =)

Sue Hackett. Hmmm, that's kinda boring. We used to play with your first dog's name and the name of your street... then I would be Buttons Hackett... a little more fun!

I don't have a middle name, either. And for the first 12 years of my life, I lived in China. In a village in the countryside. So there were no "street names"..

The street that we lived in for a few years after we moved to the US was named Marquette.

I'm Marquette. ;-)

Jean Lilley. I think I'd be doing slasher films.

We always lived on a dorky street name. Ryan Orpington maybe?

Okay, my middle name: Joyce. Street name: Langley.

Now, the funny part? I really had a cousin of sorts (southern, you know the trees here) named Joyce Langley. In fact, I was named after her since she was my mom's best friend who committed suicide. I am totally the coolest person ever.

Well, I've heard that your "drag" name is first the name of your first pet and then the street you grew up on. :-D I would be Pierre Orchard. (yes, I'm a chick) My movie star name would be Antoinette Chalmers (we moved a lot when I was a kid).

I'm Marie Manor. Sounds like a retirement home.

Jean Elm. My agent would make me change my name, I guess.

Joan: I swear I sprayed hot tea on my screen! Pretty funny.

Karin: Well it could be Elfriede Chatsworth (I know, not much better)

Ron: Your middle name is Audubon? I'm sure there is a story behind that one =)

Cute house.

In Australia there is The Nancy Club and you have to be called Nancy to be a member (of course) and there are a couple of hundred members. It is great and they always get a mention when they meet up.

Leigh Hoagland - Sounds like a porn star to me - Don't I wish right??!!

haha mine would be Denise Oak Grove. If it was the pet + street name it would be Paela Oak Grove, that may be a little more movie star-ish but I'm not so sure about that last name...

Gay Wilmot. Nothing else needs to be said on that one.

Christina Leroy

we looked at a couple houses on Blair...before we decided to go about 30 miles north east. I'll take Macomb County taxes over Royal Oak taxes any day, thank you. Oh, but we lived on Forest...just off Main St. near Hollywood Market when we first got married. That was a BLAST! May-October walking downtown all the time!
