One Day, 24 Hours

I have asked this question to two different people, men to be exact, in the past 10 years. Their answers spoke volumes. Too bad I had the speakers turned down. [smirk]

Anyway, it isn't one to answer quickly. Think and ponder on it. If you want, post your answer on your blog and link back to this post. Or, leave it in comments. I'm curious to hear your answer.

Nobody has ever matched my answer albeit, my answer is outside the box. I'll tell you mine tomorrow. If you post your answer, I'll add your link to my answer.

If you had one day, 24 hours to do anything you wanted, use your imagination, anything ... by yourself, for yourself, only you and you alone.
Nobody would ever know what you did.
Nobody would ever see how you spent those 24 hours.
This is time just for you, alone.
What would you do that would make you smile and go "ah-hhhhh" just before your head hit the pillow in the last minute of those 24 hours?

Mine would involve sleeping in, beer, the Cubs, watching ASU football, a great meal or two, wine and dancing on bars to 80s music. And possibly making out with a few cute strangers.

Either that or I'd spend it in Napa wine tasting for 24 straight hours. :)

I would fly to the out reach's of Montana or Alaska and flyfish the best streams till my legs gave out,
camp under the stars enjoying the peace and quiet except for the sounds of the wilds of nature.
Enjoying the beautiful sights.
Of coarse it would be summer!!

Mine would be fishing too. Maybe on a boat in Cape Cod or maybe in the Florida Keys. There would probably be a little drinking involved too.

I'm doing it. It is 11:53 and all my babies are resting as I keep watch over them. Wake up and smell the coffee Nancy, you're a babe.

What an incredible question...for those who have never faced the "if you only had".

I've faced that to some degree so I know what this really, truly feels like. I've had two people die on me very unexpectedly with words not spoken, not a chance to say good bye. Being given a cancer diagnosis also puts me in a category of how I view my life differently.

If I could do anything it would be to make sure I spoke to each person I know and tell them that I love them, make sure there were no words left unsaid and leave them all with no unanswered questions.

And I do this as often as I can now anyway, because we never really know when those last 24 hours are going to be. ♥

Well, if I'm being honest, mine would probably include a VCR and a couple of extra batteries. And that's all I'm saying.

If this is a day completely for me I'd spend the day naked painting a self portrait, I've never done it and I've always wanted to.

Otherwise I'd go to a dog shelter and spend the entire day walking those dogs.

Wow this has had my mind spinning all day. Thanks Nancy. I am already a dizzy blonde. If anything was possilble I would like to look at the world from God's eyes and sit down and have a nice long chat for about an hour. Have lunch in heaven with all the people I have lost. Then I would like to manage a Tiger game (3hours). Full body massage naked no parts left untouched on a beach out in the open under a canopy. Walk on the moon for 20 mins. Have tons of money to walk on the street and just pass out to people in need. Ride on a Harley, drive the most expensive car ever made. Lastly but most importantly make amends for anyone I have every hurt.

I'd rent a car more fun than a my minivan, grab my camera and go. I'd make sure to stop and take pictures the whole time. This is something I could do anyway but I don't.

I'm late with this, but will answer anyway....
In Hawaii, there is a mountain that is climbed by hula dancers at certain times of the year...they offer to the Gods handmade leis and they dance a special dance. I would love to do this...to spend the day in all that glory and beauty surrounded by women who truly LIVE the way of the "hula"...to learn from their hands and hearts how I might too live that way.
