Now why in tarnation can I remember this nonsensical ditty from second grade but I forgot to take my garbage to the curb before I left for work today?

Gee, thanks for that! Guess what's stuck in MY head now? Probably be there all weekend, and I normally wouldn't mind but I had planned to actually use my brain to do some thinking this weekend and now that plan's all shot to hell.

I spent a large part of yesterday singing, "There's a wild bunch of peanuts in every Snickers bar ... "

And yet, had to make three trips to my kids' school to take things I'd missed previously.

ha! Very funny; it's amazing what our brains manage to hold onto; we need recycle bins for our head, don't we?

(I share a garbage dumpster with my neighbors, and love it! No remembering to take that garbage out!)

Wow haven't thot of that one for a hundred yrs., ok now it keeps replaying in my head.. Maybe tomorrow we can do '2 all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese etc etc...' or.... ok fortunately I can't think of another as I can't get 'flea fly flo' outta my head... Thanks!!

Short term memory loss. My 99 year old grandmother can tell you all about her childhood but can't remember if she had lunch. That's what I've got to look forward to. You're not there yet!

Wow, you are definately related to my husband. LOL

Because the song is so much more fun. Obviously. ;-)

Because the ditty is much more fun. What was I saying?

I have never heard of this particular ditty before and I'm thanking the gods above 'cause I'd probably be singing it all day!!

Isn't it funny how you (or maybe it's just me, i dunno!) can't just sing part of something like that...once you start you have to do the whole damn thing?!??!

My boys used to love the "peanut butter" song and the "baby shark" song, but...after a while, they both get a little old!!! :-D

dum ditty ditty doo...because older stored memory is quite often easier to retrieve as we climb the ladder of our years than the short term things we need to do daily. Now if you really want to remember that trash -- remind yourself each trash day to sing flea fly and you'll connect the 2 together!! Or not. Just a thought!! Cool little ditty though!!!

This happens to me all the time too. I have useless information clogging up my brain leaving no room for new facts.

Because the ditty is sooooo much more amusing that taking out the trash.

For me it's Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky.

But if my to-do list isn't tattooed on my arm, it flies out of my mind instantly.

p.s.

I had a vision of us drunkenly trying to teach this ditty to bloggers in July....
