I usually don't have a favorite performer on American Idol until they are down to about the last six. This season, they have some talent that will continue on win or lose.
Right from his first audition, I liked this guy, David Cook. Tonight, the songs having to be from the 80's, David nailed it. I think he was best of the night.
You know, I never watch this program. But I'm glad I watched this clip. This young man has talent and he has creativity. I liked that Simon said he took risks and he was brave. He was. And Randy saying it could be a hit single right now? Absolutely.
Lionel Ritchie would be blown away by this...and even if the guy doesn't "win" Idol...who knows what could come of a Lionel Ritchie connection for loving what he did with his music?!? You never know until you risk!!
Okay...so that was so gooooood!! And kudos to him for taking a song like that and making it work for now!! (honestly...the music of the '80's pretty much sucked in my opinion...give me late 70's or now anyday!!!) I'm going to go and check out the other performances, since we won't get the show televised here until..maybe..september!!!

Yeah that was pretty amazing... totally believable rock version of that song.
Not sure but seemed to sound like he put a 'Queen' spin to it?
Very cool...
