T B S

I have had a few people ask me what the label TBS means on some of my posts. Simply put : Trivial BullSh*t

TBS can also be something that rolls around in your noodle for years that refuses to go away. I have a couple that won't find a place in the abyss of my brain, but I can't think of any scenario they would become of any use to me.

"CHIcken in the CAr and the car won't GO, that's how you spell CHICAGO"

"A Rat In The House Might Eat The Ice Cream" = arithmetic

"Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" = lines on a standard treble clef
"FACE" = spaces between the lines

And what TBS rolls around in your head that you can't get out?

I'm amazed at all the TBS I remember from high school and college. Too bad there are some things I wish I could forget!

SOH CAH TOA (if you're into trigonometry), Roy G. Biv (if you're into the colors of the spectrum. My personal favorite is Bacillus subtilis variation mycoides. I don't even remember what it is (a bacterial strain maybe?) but we got extra credit if we could spell it on a test correctly (don't forget the capital B!)

God I'm a dork.

How about when to use who versus whom? Rephrase the question or statement to use he or him. If you end up with he, it's who, if you end up with him, it's whom.

What do you hear when you enter a cemetery? EEEK!! (except for the Y, all the vowels in the word are Es)

The word secretary comes from secret.

I could probably come up with a bunch more if I really thought about it, but those are the ones I use often. Well, except cemetery, I just remember when I first heard it.

Since I taught map skills, I have "Never Eat Soggy Waffles" stuck in my noggin.

( for the cardinal directions)

N,S,E,W

The other stuff is way too neurotic to share on my first visit....I will save that for another day! :)
