Lake St. Clair, Fishing

As I've said before, in my second life, I'm going to be a Mermaid. I love being on the water. I can't wait for the hot days of summer so I can just dive right in.

I'm learning about boating and the proper verbiage. Karin? With your husband being a boat broker, I'm sure you understand why Don is correcting me. [wink]

Okay, so we got into his boat and I reached over to undo the "ropes" ... by the time we came back to the dock, I was tying the "lines."

We headed out to Lake St. Clair. This is the "street" Don's house is on ... make that the "canal" he lives on.

I got to steer pilot the boat, and after a few drunken looking moves, I was able to keep it straight.

We were fishing for perch or walleye but kept catching big ass bass and blue gill.

Yes, I baited my hook, but only after Don showed me how to bait a double hook. That doesn't bother me, I just think I am "piercing" the worm ... maybe to add earrings later.

(Keep thinking that Nancy so it doesn't gross you out too much.)

Don threw his line in and less than 30 seconds, he had this. Go D! (Too bad it was a bass.) Remember he did that a few months ago ice fishing?

We caught about a dozen bass and blue gill, but never saw a walleye.

I had a great day. Sun was shining, sky's were blue, vodka ice tea was flowing and I have a great fishing partner!

Where is Bill Dance when you need him?

No honey, you lip a large mouth, you don't kiss it. That's another kind of lip.

Oh, and damn you're pretty.

looks like a wonderful day, and it only makes sense that a mermaid should be with a sailor!

Gorgeous spot...can't say the same about the fishies...but looks like you were having fun. Shall we call you Ariel from now on?

I really don't think I could go fishing.......
I wouldn't know what to do with the fish when I caught them...

You want me to do WHAT????

Beautiful pictures. I could relax on the boat, though! (A few "iced teas" would help)!

Wow. What an amazing day. I haven't been in a boat since I was a kid.

I love being out on the water, too. Outside the office windows, I have a view of Lake Michigan and sailboats galore at the Yacht Club.

Love Michael's comment!

Excellent pics! Great fishing trip. I am impressed that you baited your own hook.

I didn't read if you ate the fish? Did you gut them?

You know, if you actually show the fish you've caught, it screws with your ability to have the fish keep getting bigger and bigger as you keep telling the story about catching it.

Nice fish Nancy. Would make my Dad and Mom so proud to see me catch that big of fish. See you in August.

Lovely! I've been on Lake St. Clair -- in a sailing regatta. So cool, especially sailing up then down the Detroit River.
