So, what do you think?

Yesterday wasn't a bad day. A little bit odd, somewhat hectic, and thankfully this side of the Twilight Zone.

Just before I was leaving work a car pulled up. When he got out, I though holy shit, what's he doing here?

He being someone I dated about six years ago. He doesn't live in the area. He was a puzzlement from the beginning. He who I bolted split from after about 3 months.

He came in, sat down in my office and the very first thing he said was, (nope, it wasn't hi, hello, or any salutation) "Can you explain to me why you didn't want to see me anymore?"

: blink : blink :

I said, "Great, I'm doing great. And you?"

Yes, that's how I answered him.

We talked for about 15 minutes. I think he was okay with my answer. Then I said I had to get going.

Six years later?

So, what do you think?

I went home so Caitlin could cut and highlight my hair.

Highlight being the operative word.

See the pic of my new do?

Of course you don't. I'm not sure if I'll be taking pictures.

I have never had it this "layered" or this "blonde" .... ever.

Maybe I shouldn't have grounded her for most of her senior year in high school.

Paybacks are a bitch.

So, what do you think?

I'm thinking of visiting Lake Orion.

I'm also thinking of buying a McIntosh computer.

I also have a reader that is loyal but doesn't ever leave a comment, not a one.

Want to be buds? Want to email me? mariemillard (at) gmail (dot) com

So, what do you think?

I'm looking forward to the weekend.

I say "I want pictures!".
I had a friend (I've actually met him in person) who never left comments on my blog, flickr etc or anyone else's but always got tons of comments on his sites. I thought that was a little one sided.

What do I think #1:
That's awesome that you avoided his question like that. It was powerful, it was not subtle at all, and it clearly showed you still owe him a truthful answer that only a 52+2 year old can provide. What? is your hair still in pigtails Cindy?

What do I think #2:
hmmm, I think YOU and "I" have already answered that question.

What do I think #3:
Do you do a lot of high powered graphics at work or home. Then get the Mac. Otherwise, a most reasonably price PC with all the bells and whistles will do fine. And I thought we were buds. I'm on that Latte list still aren't I? yes, yes I am. Oh you mean the loyal non-commenter. Well maybe today is that persons day to leave a comment to tell you to Sister-Up and speak frankly with Mr. Bolt. You'll do him and the next "Jan" a favor.

*we need more Alice's*

Six years later, really?!? And, I want to see your new hair, pictures please. And, visit the lake, skip the Mac, and you're not talking about me are you? xoxo.

Six years? I think Creepy Creeper.

I want to see your hair. Lowlights in a few weeks?

This guy has waited 6 years to find out why you split? And then to find out he shows up where you work? How did he know you'd still be working there? Trust your instinct...if you had good reasons for splitting 6 years ago (which is seems you did), keep your distance now. If he carried a torch this long and you have regrets, that's a different thing.

And yes, payback is a bitch!!! lol!! But I'm sure your hair is lovely!!

This guy's been mulling this over for six years?!? Strange.

I think I want to see a picture!

Also, I think if that guy shows up again, you should be concerned. The fact that he showed up out of the blue is strange.

Also, I think you're cute.

#1: Ick. Order of protection.
#2: If I could put my terrible Carol Brady haircut out for the world to see, you can show us yours.
#3: Visit the lake, buy the mac, maybe that reader is #1 (see above).

My brutally honest opinion (would you expect anything less?)...I think you need to reconsider the way you treated this dude...for him to be this bothered for the last 6 years by a break up when you only dated a few months tells me there's more to this story.

Then again, he could just be psycho. What do I know, anyways.

I'm leaving a comment. Please sound the trumpets. I never leave comments, because I'm the weird kid, dressed all in black, skulking in the corner, getting creeped out by some guy who will not shut up about how he's going to confront his ex-girlfriend one day out of the blue. I'm moving to another corner now.

Aw, c'mon -- can't a girl just take a break from the daily grind by logging in to her favorite blog without getting called out? Love following your adventures, crushes, and the more serious, i.e., the de-mated goose. It was tragic and sad and wonderful all at the same time. Comments and kudos -- small price for admission.

"I broke up with you because you are a procrastinator and I can't be with a guy like that."

Is that what you said?

Oh, and I'd like photos as well. Something signed.

Um...So, that's kinda weird.

Margie said...

Weird? I'm trying to think of which ONE of the weirdo's you've dated in the past came to visit you, I can think of a few....but then, if you only dated him 3 months...maybe the family never met him?

It's as much fun reading everyone else's comments as it is your blog.
#1 too creepy, go on a long vacation.
#2 I'm sure Caitlin made you look beautiful.(more beautiful) It will just take time to get use to it.
#3 Lakes are fun, go.
Don't know a thing about computers.

It was the Grinch!!!!!

Notice the disparity between the male comment and the female comments.

Maybe it is time to step out from your Venus-shoes.

*either way do what is most comfortable for YOU*

OMG, did I outdo San today?

This is being written on a Mac :-)

And I think that truth can be stranger than fiction.

And about the hair: go ahead and post a picture. You can always wear a hat.

Happy Friday.

I would like to see your new 'do!

That visit would have really thrown me for a loop.

So what do I think? I try not to, I'm not equipped for that activity. :)

Your answer to that guy was perfect. I never would have been that quick-thinking in that situation.
