Mayor of Detroit Apologizes, Sorta

You may have read about the latest scandal stirring in Detroit. I posted about it here. After staying silent for a week, he appeared on TV to make his public apology to the people of Detroit, his family, and his wife. As I sat there listening to what he had to say, I knew it was about as sincere as a four year old saying "I sow-wy" as he's being caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I think what the Mayor said was one thing, what he was thinking was more like this:

I dear God. I am seriously tired of men who can't keep it zipped; it makes me question their capacity for logical thought.

Terri: Because you are from the burbs of Detroit, you DO feel it, lol

Did you watch that choreographed mess he delivered?

My inlaws, as I think I told you, grew up in Detroit. They said Detroit pretty much always has a crappy, horrible, unethical mayor as far back as they could remember. None of this seemed particularly surprising to them.

Not sure what you think, but they think that if Detroit could get a mayor that would do something significant about crime and revitalize all the great things Detroit has to offer, it would be such a great thing.

Sun: I concur with the inlaws.

Detroit has so much potential ... if only we could get someone in charge that has more interest in the city than monetary and social status gain for themselves!

This guy redefines the meaning of greedy.

And there is more on kawame coming out on Wednesday. I can't wait to hear about it. I hope it's enough now to get him out of office. What a guy. I love you Detroit. That video was great.

Dennis Archer wasn't so bad; at least he seemed humble and nice. I keep thinking it'd be nice if they just booted Kwame right now because the longer he stays after all this bad publicity the more people will shrug his behavior off and become desensitized to it.

Nancy; I was not able to watch the entire speech; I read excerpts from his and his wife's; I was not impressed (and I'm a pretty forgiving person).

As long as his Mama doesn't start talking again. Sigh.
