Sweet Baby James

I stole permanently borrowed a James Taylor, Sweet Baby James, album, yes, the 33.5" black vinyl huge ass album, from a house Karin was babysitting at when I was 15.

I still have it and love it like a fat kid loves cake.

Being a forever fan of JT, I have followed his career and life, singing praises to his successful career and forgiving him (and Carly) for not making their marriage work.

It's been a couple years since I have listened to him on a regular CD rotation. Last week, while getting ready for work, I heard him singing a song [on Good Morning America] that I never really liked before. I have tried to find it to down load, but this is all I can find.

"... and I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time ..."

[Glen Campbell never sounded so convincing as James]

Yep JT still has it. I like all his songs too. I think I still have that album at home but I bought mine. :) I swear I thought I saw you in that crowd.

I have a book I knowingly stole from the Memphis Public Library 30 years ago-Loose Change by Sarah Davidson. I still feel a thrill when I look at it.

I've never been much of a fan of his voice but his song writing is incredible. Reminds me of Bob Dylan in that way.

Would it make any difference to you at all in our friendship if I told you I sound JUST LIKE James Taylor when I sing? That’s why I’m not famous, he beat me to it.

You still following???

My parents and brother are JT fanatics and I confess, I love his voice. So relaxing.

I saw JT at Meadowbrook this past summer. The concert was comprised of not only some of his most notorious songs - but cover's of others - including this tune. Yes, he was old - but so was the crowd!

This song has always been a fave of mine. I always thought it was soooo romantic....I don't remember you stealing that album! Do you remember whose house you took it from? I still have my copy of the album that I inherited from my sister and I still love it and JT. His voice is still as strong and pure as it ever was.
I've been away for a few weeks, but was tickled to take a trip down memory lane on my first chance to check back in with you!

I'm a first time visitor to your blog.(From Norway)
Which I found very inspiring.

This post is fascinating - may be it's because my youngest son lives in SW MI with his wife and we have been to lot's of outdoor concerts together.
Last one I did attend was "Simply Sinatra" as far SW as New Buffalo.

I have several posts from MI.

Ah! Sweet "James" Baby! How I love JT. Always have, always will. I use to have that album too, but long ago lost it. I can't believe that his voice is still the same. Those mellow sounds still send chills down my spine. Thank you for reminding me that I haven't listened to him in a long while, but I will now.

Had fun at the art show hope we can get together soon.

Luv ya
