Pros and Cons

I thought about going to work for a half day to organize my desk into piles so Monday I could begin to catch up.  Then I realized how stupid that is. So I'm home. I feel so much better.  My shower and my bed are better than anything Dr. Feelgood can prescribe.

Thanks to everyone for your e-mails of concern and good wishes.

So for those that don't know me personally, I rarely ... I mean rarely ever miss work.  I rarely watch TV. I'm rarely at home.  It's been almost 24 hours since I've been home and thus far I have discovered:

Pros
No alarm clock, I slept in until 8 am
I'm still in sleep shirt and hair is piled on my head.
The dogs are happy campers since I got home.
I love The Ellen Show and The View.
I am lucky to have a wonderful family and great friends.

Cons
I see dust ..... everywhere!
My torso is covered with sticky squares of glue that doesn't shower off.
The dogs won't leave my side.
I don't get the "Oprah" hype.
I could become more of an online addict.

Boy, I miss one day of your blog (it's been crazy around here) only to come back and find out you've had surgery! Glad they (and you) got the diagnosis right and fixed the problem. Hope your recovery is a quick one. Take care....

P.S. Try baby oil on those sticky spots. I used it on Dave when he got home from the hospital last month, and it works!

I hope you feel better soon. Stay online as much as possible so that you don't notice any of the other shit-like dust and such.

I'm so glad you're home and on the mend! and I don't get the Oprah thing either...I used to really like her and never missed her show. But now?....meh, not so much. I think she's snooty.

gall stones are nothing to laugh at. I was having trouble a couple of years ago, and the doc thought it was my gall bladder...lots of testing. nothing. But it still sucked!

get better and watch lots of tv!

Just catching up since I've had a lot going on. I had my gall bladder out several years ago by a really cute doctor. I was willing to have more surgery! Good luck with your recovery.

Glad your home and feeling better.

Ellen is hilarious, the View, meh, sometimes its good, most times I find it obnoxious. I get a headache when they all talk at once and shout to be heard over eachother.

Don't fret about work. It will still be there next week and you'll be all caught up before you know it.

So, I bet you don't have a scar completely up your belly like my mother does from her 1965 surgery (two weeks after delivering The Golden Child!)

;)

Do you think it's possible for us to become even bigger online addicts??

Glad you're feeling better.

I can't figure out the "Oprah" thing either :) So glad you are doing better... and I'm glad you stayed home today. You need that rest - milk it girl!!!

Yep on the more of an online addict.
Have liked the 'view' more since Whopi is on it, but the bantering can lead to sudden uncontroled channel surfing..
Now you should take at least a week to let yourself regrp. after that surgery. Hope your not having too much of the residual shoulder pains..
Enjoy the pup's nobody get's that kind of unconditional love and approval at work!

Consider this a forced stop and smell the rose's moment...
