I don't know how Obama is planning to work this per se...but here in Ontario with the government health insurance plan.... Most if not all employers offer this as a benefit...therefore we don't pay out of pocket. And it covers dependents. If you are self-employed and pay for your own plan you do it through a health plan created by an insurance broker that doesn't break the bank (because you are part of a larger plan with many other people).
If we hadn't had OHIP when I was dx'd with breast cancer we'd be in debt up to our eyeballs...the cost of the drugs alone was enormous...one I took for a year would have set us back $40,000. Never mind the cost of the surgeries.
I've never known any other way of having health care. And I know I'm grateful and blessed to have what we have here. I can't complain about service, doctors, tests or anything...I've never had a bad experience.
I can only hope that whatever happens with you in the U.S. is as good.
Very well done Nancy, will be sending that one around, and thank you sherry ♥ lee, It's nice to actually hear from someone who lives in Canada, about the health care system there..
This is a great little tool to explain the benefits of universal healthcare. Thanks!
