When I began posting, I never set out to "blog" per se'. I wrote without any intention of having a following. It was just a diary or brain dump or therapy (less the $125.00 per hour fee.)
Over time, my writing became less verbiage and more so a photo journal. That's when I lost my desire to write and really just wanted to catalog my adventure. It's time to write again.
I'm going to stop writing at this blog. "Marie Millard" was a fluke, never anything I thought would be read by anyone but me, or my sisters. I have several blogger friends *that I adore* who have stopped writing on their site and started up on a new one. At the time, I never really understood why. I get it now. A clean slate. A fresh start.
I'm FaceBook burnt out and I dislike Twitter *it makes me neurotic* and now Google has a social network. Acccckkkk!!!
I'm going to be kickin' it old school. I'm going to start a new site and go back to blogging like I used to ... writing for me.
Marie is my middle name. Millard is the street I grew up on.
Marie Millard is calling it a day.

Sweet dreams and happy trails..
Yay!
Please let me know when you start your new blog. I always enjoy your writing.
Having done this more times than I can count (!), you know I understand this. We change and our voice changes as do our adventures and then our old "journal" really doesn't fit. We've said all we needed or wanted to say there.
I look forward to the rebirth of your journals and your adventures. Good night Marie and good morning Nancy! xo
I started a new one on tumblr http://lifeinsouthernsuburbia.tumblr.com/ though I can't say I post consistently. My main issue is I don't want to over share therefore I only have so much to write about , lol!
Goodbye, Marie Millard.
I totally get where you are, but hope you'll keep us all posted when you start a new blog. I always find that I do some of my best writing after I've taken a sabbatical, or a long break -- though it can feel scary at first. Your writing is wonderful, and a part of you, and I look forward to reading your next adventure.
And hey -- am also with you on the Facebook thing. This summer, it got to me, and I started missing the days when we communicated by phone or in person -- and had a little more privacy and mystery...
why do i have an image of johnny carson's last show and his last guest, bette midler...she sang the best song. i wish i could sing it now....for you.
good night, marie.
i'm looking forward to whatever you do next....and i will be there. i'm sure it's going to be just great!!!
Will miss your witty and thoughtful writing. I look forward to the "new" blog as I know it will be worth the time to read it.
Good bye "Marie" hello Nancy!
