Archives

Just took a look in my archives to see what I was up to on this day since I started blogging:

July 10, 2007 Puma

July 10, 2008 Black

I've been having the best of times since Don and I have started seeing each other. Scrolling through my archives, I found this and thought perhaps I have the man in my life that is going to finish out that meme.

Best Nights of My Life

Congratulations to The Detroit Tiger's Brandon Inge for making the All-Star team! I'm happy for Brandon and the Tigers but, I'm sadden that Magglio Ordonez decided to cut his hair (for charity).

August 24, 2007 Separated at Birth

You ask why Sara Palin has stepped down from her position as Governor in Alaska?

October 18, 2008 Well, it Could Happen!

And by the way...

February 5, 2007 Who IS this Marie Millard?

Because I always have photos:

May25, 2007 Tupperware ... Timeless

This post has my favorite photo of my son Bryan and daughter Caitlin.

Recently, while on FaceBook, I found a photo of them at a friends party. I'm glad they hangout together, but it's odd seeing these Tupperware wearing babies of mine each holding adult beverages!

Marie? What's up with you lately?

I realize I have put Marie Millard on the back burner. Way back, to the one that doesn't even have a pilot light that works. One that has a tarnished old tea kettle sitting on it collecting dust.

I could use the excuse that I have been concentrating on another site I have been working on. It's finally in the web designers hands. The domain name is secured and thanks to The Hotfessional, I have a great guy in O'Canada that will be hosting the site. More to come, when there's more to come.

Good things happening:

Spring isthisclose to being here.
I went to the doctor and weigh less than I have in 10 years.
I still have a job, a house, and for the most part no debt. (damn hospital bill)
I have my ticket to (sold out) BlogHer 2009 in Chick-ca-go & awesome Ree is my partner in crime roommate.

But Marie? WTF is up with her? Isn't this supposed to be a place to spill what ever I choose? Why do I censor? Since when have I really cared what others think? (unless, of course, I value their opinion)

If I wrote from the heart, I'd end up pissing off some people, but not really wanting to. I'd have a couple people nodding yes, smirking, and giving the two thumbs up. I can be sure of those that would just shake their head thinking I've lost it.

But there are a few that have always accepted me as is, duct taped together, in places that don't always show, with my velvet covered thorns and my slightly scarred heart.

For now, I'll just keep to the dreams I pretend will come true.

Personal Inventory

My blog is a slacker this month. And a lot of last month.

Sometimes I post for mental release, sometimes just to bring out a smile.

You'd think when there is much happening in my life, I would have endless stories to write about.

Quite the opposite.

When there is so much going on, I back off on writing. Not for lack of time. Mainly, because I haven't revealed much about myself in my writing. Not much of my personal life.

Sure, there's the usual meme's that tell you trivial things about me. Photos that give a visual of a few things I'm up to.

But not the real personal stuff.

There are some bloggers that can just spill it all out. Some, giving TMI in my opinion.

But, I find the bloggers that are real, tell it like it is, pour your heart into it writers, put out good, thought provoking posts. Where as my holding back shows with my run of YouTube posts or quirky jokes.

It's those days, I am probably dealing with things that I should just "put out there" ... listen to your opinions, welcome your support, or accept a bitch-slap into reality.

I'm going to go play Mobsters on myspace ask you to leave in comments, a question. Something you've wondered about me, or maybe read a post that you had a question about. Or you can e-mail me with one at mariemillard [at] gmail[dot] com.

I'm hoping this may help me to open up more in my writing.

Me 'n Marie

I explained why I write as Marie in my first post, but occasionally I get an e-mail asking if my name is Nancy or Marie. It's both. I am Nancy Marie.

My pseudo, Marie Millard, is my movie star name. Use your middle name as the first name and the street you grew up on as the last name. Did you play that game as a kid?

I was in Royal Oak and drove past the house I lived in until 1965 ... on Millard. Still looks the same, except the front porch steps seem smaller *wink*

Leave a comment ... what is your movie star name?

performed this fine dance routine to the Scissor Sister song,
I Don't Feel Like Dancing
?

We're back again, dancing to the start of the Christmas season.

Now go make one of you and the kids, add the dog too!

Marie Millard Who?

My first post explains why I named this blog Marie Millard.

When I wrote about the different Google searches the other day, I went through my site meter to see what people had Googled, to bring traffic here.

Marie Millard came up a lot. I had noticed this before, but now I was wondering why or who would search that name.

So I just did.

My blog comes up first.

Then, there is Marie Millard, Realtor:

Marie Millard Realtor, Broker:

Marie Millard, CPA

Marie Millard Coordinator for a school district

There are a lot for Anne-Marie Millard, fitness instructor, author, personal trainer:

So I wonder, who are you Googler's looking for?

The 2 Marie Millard Realtor's ? I can't sell my house ... go ahead, give it a try.

Marie the CPA? Want to show me some creative financing? Like how to increase my portfolio ... wait, I don't even have a portfolio!

Marie Millard School Coordinator? Bless you, dealing with kids, teachers, PTA know-it-all's, and my favorite ... MEAPS (not)

Anne-Marie Millard? I certainly could use one or 10 of your work out videos!

And when I Google Nancy *birth last name* ...

There is one, a professor and author in neuropsychiatry.

Don't analyze this post, it's just fill for NaBloPoMo. *wink*

Captain Obvious

You may have already figured out, by comments left here in the past, that Captain Obvious is my nephew Michael.

When I was first married, wait, make that second marriage, before I had my kids, Michael spent a lot of weekends with us, "Aunt Nancy" and "Uncle Bill". I have MANY hilarious photos of him from those days, but I better get permission before I post any. I am smart enough to know his parents have documented ammunition that he could post showing my finer Kodak moments.

Michaels job took him to Germany for a year, and that's when "Captain Obvious" was born. A perfect way to keep in touch with the family and post beautiful pictures from his European vacations and weekend jaunts. Check out his flicker site for some of the most awesome shots.

He has asked me how I have so many "on line" friends. The blogger world will do that to you! Head over to his site and leave him some hugs ... pump up his comment count for a day *smiles*

Here is a video of Michael and I "dancing" ... um sorta. Just click on the picture.
