Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies.
Well, I'm all grown-up now,
And still need help somehow.
I'm not a child,
But my heart still can dream.
So here's my lifelong wish,
My grown-up Christmas list.
Not for myself,
But for a world in need.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This my grown-up Christmas list.
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end, oh.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
This is my only lifelong wish .
This is my grown-up Christmas list.

Ahmen...Sigh,sniff,sob....
Thank you!!
ok, you made me cry already this morning.
Ahhh Nancy. Why’d you have to make me cry so early in the morning? Thank you for posting this video, which really depicts the great compassion of our troops.
The soldier crying, the little boy receiving the flag, and the circle prayer, ... actually it all got to me.
Hopefully 2008 brings all of our guys home where they belong.
Oh Nancy, that is so sweet!
My nose is burning. That is wonderful.
Thank you. Enough said
Nice piece, pretty song.
I love this song...and listen to it over and over and over and over. Thanks for sharing these lyrics...they are just so beautiful.
How can anyone look at those photos and not believe that "right would always win/and love would never end"? Kinda puts the 'holiday madness' I've been experiencing in perspective. *sniff*
Just the words are bringing me to tears. I'm scared to watch the video knowing I'll be sobbing.
Peace on Earth. What a beautiful idea.
Thanks for sharing that. A lot to take in.
Thank you for sharing this, Nancy. My niece just returned from Iraq.
