Schmooze ...

When Robin at Around the Island gave the Schmooze award to me, I decided before I pass it along, to find out exactly what the original idea was with this award. After reading quite a few blogs that came up when I googled "Schmooze Award", I kept finding the same quoted description. I would have liked to give credit to where it originated, but since it pops up on so many blogs, I too am just going to copy what I've found.

What does it mean to be Schmoozed? Well it is said that schmoozing is the natural ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain or make a social connection.”

It’s an award for those who have the natural ability “to effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way.

They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.”

And here I just thought it was the ability to suck-up *wink*

Maybe you sent me an e-mail or left a comment that you don't quite recall ... I didn't forget it. Thanks for schmoozing me!

Blog Bling

Com'on, we all like it. Admit it, there is a little bit of Sally Field in all us bloggers.

"You like me, you really like me."

Sunshine (Sonia), at ... and the pursuit of happiness, has bestowed her original, catch phrase award on me, (and well a boat load of others, but for now this is all about me ok?)

Sonia loves using the phrase "Cat's Ass" and as she says, it indeed works for so many situations. Per (or should I say "purrrr") her Urban Dictionary, cats ass means:

The very best. The finest. The epitome. Most excellent. Absolutely, without a doubt, for sure, unbeatable, "can't be licked". The best, the bomb. In reference to something more excellent than a cat's meow.

Now her button could have looked like this:

Or purrrrhaps this one:

Thankfully, hers has the cute factor, this will look just fine on my site:

Thanks Sunshine ... and if anyone else wants to get her Cats Ass bling, go walk between the pages of her posts, claw at the links to some of her fabulous other sites on her side bar, slink in and out of her comment section leaving your paw prints ... just don't leave any hairballs!

How Nice ...

Biddy at Biddy's World passed along the "Nice Matters" award to some pretty nice people ... and she included me. Awe, thanks Biddy ... that was nice of you. Somehow I see rainbows, puppies, and gumdrops right now but at other times ...

Biddy, you should really spend time with me when I am driving behind some 'ole blue hair in 5 O'clock traffic. You should be over my shoulder when I am trying to unscrew a jar of Alfredo sauce. Block you ears when I throw in a load of clothes at 11:30 PM because I have nothing to wear to work the next day, and find out I have no laundry soap. Don't even say a word if you witness me trying to do home repairs because I am too bull-headed to ask for help.

Eh, the older I get, the more I am able to recoup in a shorter amount of time and realize nice matters, and it is easier on myself and others to put being nice first. I try to save my not-so-nice times for when there are no witnesses. Eating humble pie isn't as tasty as gumdrops.

Not to discount the award, I love it and now I shall pass it on to some other nice people.

There may have been a certain post you wrote, a comment you left, or just a feel good feeling you sent out. For that, thank you and here is a "Nice Matters Award"

Dixie at Deep Fried-Southern Style

Sher at Wiping the Crazy Off My Face

Lori at This Just In

Lori, by the way, has gone above and beyond being nice,

I could list many more (my blogroll to be exact) but some have already received it.

"You ROCK "

Last week MoodSwingingMommy gave me a "Rockin Blogger" award. In keeping with the flow, I get to tag five bloggers that rock. Instead of preachin' praises, I ask that you go check them out for yourself. There are more than five I would like to tag, but for now here we go:

Sunshine at and the pursuit of happiness ... is indeed rockin'. (she is on vacation, but she is so rockin' that she has guest writers lined up for your enjoyment)

Beth at Blind As A Bat ... always tellin' it like it is ... she rocks.
Michael at Captain Obvious ... well he ROCKS ... for obvious reasons!

Mary at Fightin' Mad Mary ... great shopping tips, fun photos, and a rockin' house.

Joan at Southern Suburbia ... she keeps it real ... no doubt in my mind Joan rocks.

If you chose, copy and past your award onto your blog, and then tag 5 others.

\m/ Rock On

Mood Swinging Mommy thinks I rock! Actually, I think she gave me this award because I am always lurking around her site Am I Going Mad or Am I Just a Mommy. Seriously, thank you, my first award!

Click on that first link for her 100 things post. #12 is a fun fact, #45 whoa, she's a smart cookie, #83 I like how adventurous she is.

I think I'll hold on to this award for a day and then I'll pass it along.
